Course Objectives The aim of this course is to learn various optical instruments how to affect light and how the image is formed with these tools
Learning Outcomes The students who succeeded in this course;
  • Define the interference and diffraction laws.
  • Define the light scattering and polarization laws.
  • Explain the use of the polarization on lenses
  • Define prismatic effect.
  • Explain the characteristics of the lens.
Course Description In this lecture, srudents are informed about interference of light, interference in thin membrane, light diffraction, scattering and polarization of the light, angle of prism, type of prism, prismatic effect, diopter of prism, prentice rule, determination of the prism base direction, use of the polarization on lenses, optical systems, Characteristics of the Concave (-) and Convex (+) lens, magnifying glass, microscope, binoculars and telescopes
